The Gamages Of London Limited Edition Hand Assembled Johnnie Target Racer Automatic Blue men’s watch remembers flying ace James Edgar Johnson, nicknamed Johnnie, who holds the distinction of being the highest scoring fighter pilot during World War II.
It boasts 163 part 21 jewel hand assembled automatic movement to operate the luminous hands that glide gracefully cover indices. These are arranged across a cobalt-blue dial, which is detailed with Date, Date, Month and Minutes functions. The tachymeter chapter ring provides functionality and measures speed based on time and distance travelled, an essential element of navigation.
The dusk-blue leather strap and Gamages Of London logo engraved stainless steel caseback add a distinctly formal touch that pays tribute to Johnson’s intrepid professionalism that saw him soar higher than any other pilot of his generation.
