Gold and silver earrings

Earrings are the heart of these sales, with studs, hoops, sleepers, creoles and drops appearing in most weeks. Look for 9ct gold styles described as Tuscany Gold, sterling silver from Tuscany Silver and Dew, and pearl, gemstone and crystal designs, with the metal and stones for each lot as stated in the description.

Necklaces and pendants

Pendant necklaces, chains and charm necklaces come through in gold-tone, silver-tone and rose gold-tone finishes, including infinity, heartbeat and rectangular pendant designs. Branded examples from Radley London, Anne Klein, Firetti and Thomas Sabo feature regularly.

Bracelets and charm jewellery

Chain bracelets, cord bracelets and charm pieces turn up across the sale, with Thomas Sabo Charm Club, Firetti and ChloBo among the names that appear. Many arrive boxed or with a presentation pouch, as shown on the lot page.

Designer and branded names

A good share of lots carry recognised jewellery and accessory brands, including Thomas Sabo, Radley London, Ted Baker, Kit Heath, ChloBo, Anne Klein and Firetti, alongside Cerruti 1881 and Rotary on the watch side. Brand, materials and condition are as supplied by the vendor and set out in each lot description.

Watches and watch winders

The category regularly carries wristwatches, including boxed designer styles from names such as Cerruti 1881 and Rotary, with rings and other pieces appearing from week to week. Watch winders are a recurring fixture too, with multi-rotor and single-rotor Klarstein models (St. Gallen, Sindelfingen and Brienz among them) coming through boxed.

Who buys at our jewellery and watch auctions

Bidders here range from individual buyers looking for a gift or a personal piece to market traders, resellers and online sellers building stock. Low opening prices and weekly turnover suit both one-off purchases and regular buyers working through volume.

How it works

Each lot has its own page with images, the vendor's description and the current bid. Place your maximum bid and the system bids up to it on your behalf, with the highest bid at close winning at the hammer price. New lots are listed every week, so it is worth checking back across sales.

Collection or postal

Many jewellery lots are available for postage as well as collection, with the options for each lot shown on its page. Smaller items like earrings, necklaces and watches post easily, while larger pieces such as watch winders may suit collection. Check the lot page for the choices that apply.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Simon Charles jewellery and watch auction?

sign

It is a timed online auction of jewellery and watches sold on behalf of vendors such as retailers, wholesalers and other trade sources. Lots are listed with images and a description, and you bid online until the lot closes, with the highest bid winning at the hammer price.

Is the jewellery new or used?

sign

Both appear. Some lots are new or boxed surplus and others are pre-owned, with the condition for each piece as stated in the description and shown in the lot images. Always read the lot page before bidding.

How much does jewellery sell for at auction?

sign

Many lots open at around £1, and the final price is decided by bidding rather than a fixed retail figure. Smaller fashion pieces often stay low, while gold, sterling silver and designer items can attract more competition.

Can I see a piece before I bid?

sign

Yes. Viewings are available so you can inspect lots in person before bidding, with the viewing details shown on each lot page. If you have a question about a specific lot, use the "Ask a question" function on that lot's page.

What comes with each lot?

sign

This varies by lot. Some pieces arrive boxed or with a presentation pouch and others do not, so check the description and images for what is included, including any boxes, pouches or paperwork, as supplied by the vendor.

Can I collect my jewellery or have it posted?

sign

Both options are commonly available, and the choices for each lot are shown on its page. Earrings, necklaces and watches are straightforward to post, while bulkier items may suit collection.

Do I need a business or trade account to bid?

sign

No. Anyone can register a free account and bid on any lot, no trade account or business registration required. Private buyers, resellers and trade buyers all welcome.
