Furniture Auctions UK | Online Home & Sofa Auctions

Q: Are auction sofas and furniture new or used?

Our furniture lots vary from brand new, typically boxed flatpack from clearance, surplus, end-of-line or ex-display stock. Some lots are customer returns or graded second-hand, but every lot description clearly states the condition and any known faults before you bid.

Q: Can I collect or do you deliver furniture?

Furniture, beds, mattresses and large appliances are collection only from our saleroom due to their size. Many buyers use third-party couriers like Shiply, AnyVan or local man-and-van services. Smaller items such as rugs, lighting and kitchen accessories are marked Postal and can be shipped UK-wide.

What's in our online furniture auctions

Our online furniture auctions feature thousands of new and boxed lots every week, drawn from retail clearance, customer returns, ex-display stock, end-of-line and surplus inventory. Most of our lots are brand-new boxed flatpack items from major UK retailers, making transport and self-assembly simple.

Sofa auctions

Browse weekly sofa auctions featuring 2-seater, 3-seater, modular, and corner sofas, as well as armchairs, hanging egg chairs, and footstools. Stock regularly includes boxed flatpack furniture from popular brands like Dusk (including the Soho, Malibu, and Hampshire ranges), Keter, and Safavieh.

Bed and mattress auctions

Furnish any bedroom for less with our selection of ottoman storage beds, stylish upholstered bed frames, and headboards in single, double, king, and super king sizes.

Our mattress auctions include pocket-sprung, orthopaedic, memory foam, and hybrid mattresses, boxed and rolled for easy transport and collection.

Dining room furniture auctions

Bid on extendable dining tables, space-saving kitchen sets, dining chair sets (typically sold in sets of 4 or 6), bar stools, and wooden or high-gloss sideboards. Stock spans oak, glass, industrial metal, velvet, and leather options from brands like Dusk, Renzo, Vida Designs, and more.

Look out for inflatable hot tubs and spas (including CleverSpa models), metal and resin garden sheds, pop-up gazebos, retractable canopies, and outdoor garden storage boxes.

Every lot listing includes clear descriptions, photos, condition details, and fulfilment instructions before you place a bid.

Collection or UK Postal Delivery:

Collection only: Most sofas, beds, mattresses, dining sets, and large appliance lots are marked collection only from our saleroom due to their bulky, boxed, or palletised nature.
UK postal delivery: Smaller items like rugs, lighting, cookshop accessories, wall art, and small kitchen appliances are marked Postal and shipped nationwide across the UK.
Third-party couriers: Many buyers choose to arrange their own courier collection for larger furniture items using services like Shiply, AnyVan, or local man-and-van operators.

Buyer's premium and VAT apply on top of the hammer price. Current rates are shown on every lot page.

Frequently asked questions about online furniture auctions

What is a furniture auction?

A furniture auction is an online or in-person sale where buyers bid on furniture lots, including sofas, beds, mattresses, dining sets and home accessories, rather than paying a fixed retail price. At Simon Charles, our weekly online furniture auctions feature new, ex-display, customer return and clearance stock from major UK retailers and brands, with bidding typically starting at £1 per lot.

Where can I find online furniture auctions in the UK?

Simon Charles runs weekly online furniture auctions covering the whole UK. Anyone can register a free account and bid on any lot, no trade account required, and lots are listed every week with hundreds of new sofas, beds, mattresses, dining furniture and homeware added.

Are auction sofas and furniture new or used?

Our furniture lots vary from brand new, typically boxed flatpack from clearance, surplus, end-of-line or ex-display stock. Some lots are customer returns or graded second-hand, but every lot description clearly states the condition and any known faults before you bid.

How much do sofas and beds sell for at auction?

Hammer prices vary by demand, brand and condition, but most lots start bidding at £1 and many sofas, beds and mattresses sell for £20–£200, well below comparable retail prices. Popular brands and well-known boxed flatpack ranges typically attract more bids and higher final prices.

Can I collect or do you deliver furniture?

Furniture, beds, mattresses and large appliances are collection only from our saleroom due to their size. Many buyers use third-party couriers like Shiply, AnyVan or local man-and-van services. Smaller items such as rugs, lighting and kitchen accessories are marked Postal and can be shipped UK-wide.

Do I need a business or trade account to bid?

No. Anyone can register a free account and bid on any lot, no business, trade account or buyer's deposit required. We welcome private buyers, landlords, resellers, traders and trade buyers alike.
