Description
Female leaders are often forgotten - and sometimes removed entirely - by history. Yet, under the surface, there is a fascinating tradition of female entrepreneurs, especially during the 18th century. The Gamages Of London Limited Ladies Hogarth Helm in Gold Pink pays tribute to two of these women. Mary and Ann Hogarth were some of the very first women to own a business, something unheard of at the time, and their residence, The Old Frock Shop on the corner of Long Walk supplied fabrics, clothes, and even uniforms for London residents, including those attending the Hospital School and orphans.
The timepiece boasts 162 Part 20 Jewel Hand Assembled Automatic Movement that is clear for all to see with the skeleton dial. This powers luminous hands around the flush-pink border separated with analogue markers, with each quarter-hour adorned with diamonds.
The Gamages Of London logo-engraved stainless steel caseback is complemented by the gold IP case and opal-pink leather bracelet that represents how the Hogarth sisters became the jewels of Long Walk.
