Description
"The Machine Gun Corps was born from a need for greater firepower to propel the British and its allies towards victory during World War I. The Vickers Armstrongs Limited Edition Hand Assembled Mugford Chopper in Gold Red men’s watch pays tribute to the members of this squadron who used Vickers machine guns attached to motorcycles to repel enemy forces on the Western Front. It is named for Lance Corporal Harold Sandford Mugford, one of the key members of this corps and a recipient of the Victoria Cross due to his contributions during the conflict.
Chronograph movement powers the luminous hands set against a mahogany-red dial and decorated with Minutes, Hour, and Seconds Counters. The tachymeter chapter ring, measuring speed based on time and distance travelled, surrounds this dial to complete the piece.
The Vickers Armstrongs logo-engraved stainless steel caseback encapsulates the pride of Britain. Its gold IP case and matching gold Milanese bracelet refer to the riches of battle and the celebrations that came once the war effort had concluded, at least for the time being. " "Model Specifications
